Hi everybody! I'm Zoe Carter. I'm a freshman and I live on the hall where Julie is RA. I'm from the South and I've lived in the same city and the same house for 18 years (until now, obviously). People say I have a southern accent, but I disagree. I'm currently involved in a very wonderful but difficult long distance relationship. My boyfriend Rich and I have been dating for 8 months (yes, I count the months...) We are currently struggling with being apart from each other and paying huge phone bills.
As far as personaliy traits go, I think I am pretty easy to get along with. I am a major perfectionist and not a very big risk taker. One of the hardest decisions I had to make was whether to come to school here, where I knew nobody, or go to the big state schools where all my friends went. I'm very happy so far... I usually come across as very quiet until you get to know me. Then I never shut up. Another aspect of me is that I really, deeply care about what people think about me. I really want everyone to like me, and I am always scared that people don't like me. I am, however, very much of an individual and will not sacrifice my real personality just to make people like me. Often these two sides of me are in severe conflict with each other, but ususally everything works out for the better. I love to do nice things for people and sometimes I'm disappointed when they fail to be appreciative or return the favor when I need it the most. Once I meet someone I feel I can trust, I tend to throw my whole self into every relationship I have.
I just pledged a sorority, and I think it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have made so many new friends and I can tell this will make my college life much more fun.
I am very close to my family, especially my mom. Speaking realistically, I have no idea what I would do without her. Leaving home wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, though. I think I get along better with all of my family since I moved out. I love my big kitty cat and my black lab puppy.
OK, enough of all that boring stuff... I love strawberry Twizzlers, Cherry Coke, sunflowers and movies. I hate SQUIRRELS (we're talking like, really, really hate squirrels), feet, and dirty fingernails. And I love to travel. I've been to England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, the Cayman islands, Jamaica and almost everywhere in the U.S. except the southwest.
I can't think of anything else right now, so I guess that's it. I am very excited to be a part of the U.C. and I will try hard to remember all the juicy details of my life so I can share them with y'all.
