Question 1: If your parents wanted you to go to a college closer to home for financial / familial reasons, what would you do?
Well, that question is sort of invalid for me, being that I do live 30 minutes from home.
It seems silly to send me to college and then to ask me to come closer. However, I'll pretend a little and say I go far away. I'll also assume my parents are paying (which they are.) If they want me to come closer, the first response is "Why didn't you say something earlier?" It seems silly to send me to college and then to ask me to come closer. After all, I have a lot of new friends, who, after a semester are practically family. I'm packing to go home these days instead packing to go to the dorm.
But. And this is a biggie. They ARE paying. What choice do I have? Granted, it is unfair, but I felt so strongly about it, I'd get a job and pay for it myself. Which seems stupid, but I wouldn't put it past me.
They ARE paying.Or, I'd do what they said. And, I'm sure I'd meet new friends, and they would become my new family, and all would be well. Of course, I'm being optimistic: I wouldn't like it for a while.
So, in short, I'd do what they said, they've got the check.
