This week was my first week on the new job. I think I'm really going to enjoy this. I got the last desk in the office. I now have a greater appreciation for Dilbert. Not the stupid boss part, but the cubicle part. I'm sitting where we used to put the interns. Luckily, I have a Dilbert calendar on my desk to amuse me every day. And I just realized that, through modern technology, I can have Dilbert wallpaper on my computer. I wonder if I can get a Dilbert screensaver?
I would have actually put a Dilbert cartoon here, but apparently that would be some sort of copyright violation. Oh well. Anyway, like I was saying before I got off on the Dilbert sidebar, my job is going well. I am mainly right now doing editing type stuff. I've also gotten to do some design work, so that's cool too. I'm not taking the holiday Monday, so next week will be the first full work week. I guess I'll stay busy. We'll see.
I went to Williamsburg last Sunday. I took Allison back from her weekend at home. It was kind of strange being back. It kind of felt good to have been missed, but it also felt bad when some people basically ignored my existence. I won't mention any names, because I'm sure that it will cause controversy, but I must say that it really kind of hurt. This was someone I thought I was relatively close to, and I barely got a "hi" out of her. Oh well. I guess that is how some people are. I may go back to the 'burg this weekend for a formal, but we have to find a place to stay. We'll see.
What else happened this week? Well, yesterday was Valentine's Day. I gave Alex an AT-ST. I know, not very romantic, but that is what he wanted. We went out to dinner and came home and watched "Only You" with Greg and Leslie. Today we went shopping at Tyson's Corner. Alex must be the best boyfriend ever. He put up with me shopping for 4 hours. What a guy!
I must also take the time here to thank some people. V-Chip sent me a King Cake for Mardi Gras. It was good. We found the doll with the first piece. Thanks Chip! And David B. sent me a "virtual Valentine". I hope yours was as good as mine David! Thanks.
I just finished watching "Sense and Sensibility". Watching a movie like that makes me want to go read the book. I would have loved to have lived in the Victorian era. It seemed so cool. And they had really neat dances too. I want to live in a castle someday. It doesn't hurt to dream, right? It'll happen someday...
Well, gotta run. I'm sorry my life is so boring. I was going to tell a story this week, but I'm tired, so I think I'll wait until next week. Now it's time for SNL, where they're showing the OJ Simpson Telethon. It's actually kinda funny.
