I'm sitting here watching "The Holy Grail". What an excellent movie. Today has been a rather boring day. It's snowed about 3 or 4 inches up here, so I've kept to the inside. I get to go to Williamsburg tomorrow, as Allison wants a ride back so she can get back in time for initiation. It should be interesting to go back. I won't be there too long though. Hopefully the roads will be clear by then.

So the news of the week is my new job. Yes, I am now gainfully employed. I'm working for a consulting firm (I guess that is what you'd call it) as a research assistant. Or the government term for it, "documentation specialist". I'll be working in the division which contracts with the Coast Guard, researching manuals and other stuff. Basically whatever they tell me to do. I'm just happy that I don't have to answer phones. I'm getting paid ~23K a year, with excellent benefits, and a review in 6 months with a pay increase of 10-15%. It's also fairly close to where I'm living, so that's also a bonus. I don't even have to go into the city.

I really don't have much to say. Last weekend, Alex's roommates had a party. Alex and I weren't there for much of it, because one of his friends was having a party too. Needless to say, there were many more people at his friend's party than at his own apartment. So after a while we came back and hung out.

Umm, I can tell you about my two favorite books. One is "Watership Down", by Richard Adams. What a great book! Rabbits looking for a new home. It's got joy, pain, romance. What more could you ask for? It's such a classic. I haven't read it recently, but I think I need to re-read it. And then there's "The Talisman", by Peter Straub and Stephen King. Stephen King has written a great fantasy novel here. My favorite movie has to be "Say Anything". Alex and I watched it on New Year's Eve. You've gotta love the movie, even though Ione Skye has to be the worst actress ever. Actually, I think Andie McDowell wins that prize, just because she's been in more movies.

Those are my thoughts for the week. Please send me questions...what stories do you want to hear? I have a lot. Ask me about my spring semester...
