Wow.. It's 3:42 am and I'm actually still up... This is bad. :/ I was going to take care of a weekly (or week and a half in this case) summary, but it just isn't happening tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Do you all find the weekly summaries useful?
Fall Break was this past weekend, which accounts for the quiet times around here in the past couple of days. Everyone is settling back into the routine again (including posting..), and I'm getting back into the swing of running the Web Site.
As always, props to the Assistant Webmaster Eric, whose machine I used to administer the site from when I was in Northern Virginia this weekend.
Chip asked for some of the dirt on my life... Well, I can only say so much since I don't want anyone's real names to come out, cause we are trying to protect the innocent here. I can tell you what I've been up to, tho, if that satisfies your curiosity some.
I have been kinda busy of late. With two job interviews this Friday (Price Waterhouse and James Martin Co), and a midterm Friday, I'm trying to get by right about now. More interviews next week, and then the week after that. Some friends from Bell Atlantic are coming down on Friday to wine and dine me and a couple other CS people down here that they're friends with. Feels nice to be schmoozed... It was kinda a rough day today, until I went to work....
... cause when I was there, they asked me if I wanted to go to Palm Springs for 5 days, with the company footing the bill. Did I? Like I was going to say no. So it look like I'll be staying out in beautiful Palm Springs, CA from Nov 8th through Nov 15th, doing Internet demos for the shareholders at the company annual meeting. They even give me an Internet link so I'll be able to maintain the site and everything. Needless to say, I'm overjoyed. Anyone out there want to get together?
Now to work out all the class details so I can take 3 days off of classes... But I think I can swing it.
The other big development of the weekend is the fact that Eric and I are going to try and move the UC off the W&M server and onto a server that we control. I'll let you know more as it approaches, what will happen is that we'll move the site, and I'll have links at the intro and menu screens telling you where to go when we move.
We are already talking about a season 2 of the UC for next year, with a new cast and all, and a possible second project... We'll have to see.
So, I'm off to bed... I think I'm gonna pass out at the keyboard here in a couple of minutes...
