I'm writing this as I have just finished my last exam for the semester. I just have to print the damn thing out and slide it under the prof's door.
Bonnie made an interesting comment on the Discussion Area about my personal life. You're right -- I have been careful to hide it. I guess I'm careful mostly because I'm the only one who isn't hidden by an alias... and while the alias system may not be perfect, it does allow everyone to take a step back.
I don't want to jeopardize that too much, so I'm careful to hedge my words somewhat. However, maybe it might be best then if you all ask some questions you want to know about, and I'll answer em!
Also, one other thing.. I got this mail from someone at Houghton Mifflin. You remember I mentioned them a post or two ago, and their holiday book campaign. Well, after a comment or two about the UC, here's what he said:
"Anyway, the main reason for writing is because I saw your mention of the Houghton Mifflin campaign for free books for kids. I work at Houghton, and I found out that the campaign ended a while ago. It started back in November and, as far as I know, was a pretty good success. I think they gave away 2000 books (which was the limit they set). But now things have gotten a little out of hand. The e-mail suggesting people send a message to Houghton has multiplied and spread around the globe. Our whole e-mail system went down last weekend, and I think that may have been the cause. You can check out the campaign's website at http://www.polarexpress.com. It will be run again next year, so send a message next November!"
(I didn't include his name, just in case.. You never know about permissions to release names, I don't want him to get in trouble or anything.) So anywayz, it's done, they did it, so don't send any more mail! :)
