All right! This is the first post date that I haven't had something due the next day. It means that I can take a little more time with it. Whoohoo!!
As may or may not have been previously posted, Alpha gave out its first "shake" of the semester on Friday night at The Bar. For those of you who don't know, a shake is a fraternities offer of membership to someone that the brothers want to have join. For those of you who do know, its also an McDonalds drink that we lace with alcohol and give to the above mentioned potential member. The shake was accepted by one Mr. Jake Scott, who we have been interested in as a member since last semester. He gave us a thumbs up, which was good. He also drank the milkshake, which for the brothers who wanted it was not so good. That gets the ball rolling for rush and alone would have made my weekend had Dana not showed up for a surprise visit. She tried to fake me out and prevent me from finding out. Unfortunately for the plan, she confided in Allison, who can't keep a secret for shit. I knew about the visit 36 hours before she showed up and that was just from Allison's sloppiness.
Two posts back (or was it three), I had to give serious credit to Caitlyn Boyd. Our discussion that week forced me to recognize that despite my friendship with Paul, there is always a second side to any argument and there are factors, both of which I am unaware and of which are not my business. Too bad I keep hearing from other people who say that she still has problems with me and still thinks that I'm mad at her. The information has come from several sources, both related and unrelated to this web site. I wouldn't have a problem if she would just LET IT GO. The last time she asked why I was mad at her, I said that I wasn't actively upset, just bothered by some of the stuff I been forced to witness as she aired the dirty laundry in their relationship. Now if she were to ask, I would tell her that I'm sick of hearing about it. She got drunk on Saturday and told me that she was mad at me because I still had a problem certain events last spring. In addition to this, she said that she was upset because I talk about Dana constantly. I've come to the decision that nothing I can say or do will convince her that I like her and enjoy her company...so I've stopped caring. If she won't believe me, regardless of my actions, then I'm not going to waste my effort. The hell with it. A friend of mine told me last night that Caitlyn thought I was upset because of what she said Saturday night because I wouldn't talk to her...nevermind the fact since then, that I've only seen her once in passing on my way out of lunch. It wouldn't bother me if this wasn't the third time it has happened. So enough already.
On the flip side, I got to see a very nice side of my roommate's girlfriend, Maria, this weekend. After having been partial witness to several fights between them, it was nice to get see a lot of the sweet, nice part of her personality. Her biggest mistake was trying to match Dana drink for drink...bad move. All in all, another great weekend. Sorry about that. Next week I'll try fucking up royally for next post. See if I can keep this stuff interesting.
I turned in a halfway decent paper yesterday. I'd tell you what class it was for, but there are only 11 people in it and that would be giving away too much. I was less than prepared for my classical civilizations test today, but knew enough of the mythological stuff from before to do allright.
Everybody give a round of applause to DJDave for his USA Today award for this site...now let's watch this crap go to his head.
if its your thing, go check out the Charlie Hunter Trio/Quartet. The first 2 albums are with 8 string guitar, tenor sax and drums. For the 3rd album "Ready, Set...Shango", they add an alto sax player. I just picked up the second disc, "Bing, Bing, Bing". It's my favorite so far.
