Whoah...an end is in sight/site.
My personal life has finally started to calm down. Communications have clarified between everyone involved in the conflict between Caitlyn and Dana, so it's time to move on to other stuff....wheeuw! On a slight side note...major props to DJDave for his 3rd (count it, 3rd) award for the site. Unfuckingbelievable. I thought this was just gonna be a small pet project. 'course I also thought that the Power Rangers would be cancelled after half a season. Shows what I know.
With Paul's work on printing and layout and Sean's help in addressing the envelopes, I managed to get 35 alumni directory/homecoming mailings out for Alpha. The response was almost immediate:
and so on. My response is "well, we asked for any updates you could give us so I can compile an update to the directory".
The great thing is that we are (to my knowledge for the first time) getting checks for alumni donations. With such a small membership, we're pretty well fucked without serious alumni support. We're all extremely psyched that we have gotten a check from Pete, along with committments from Brad,Craig, Pete, and Justin Rourke , who pledged back in spring '94 with Chad and me. With such a young chapter, it is tough to get major contributions, but then, without non-financial aid from alums, we wouldn't have had a prayer of lasting this long. Many of the recent alums also know that we don't have a shot at doing anything without this help. Thanks guys.
This is the first Tuesday that I will go to my 4:00 religion class without having to rush to finish the reading in the last fifteen minutes. Last week, I thought that I'd skip the book because the test on it was optional, but it was just so damn short. This weeks book is actually done before I go to bed. I'm hoping it will make up for the fact that I skipped Monday's book entirely so I could go to Northern Virginia with Dana. I have one word for you...pass fail.
My credit card is maxed out, my phone bills are ridiculously huge, I owe my parents money, and right about now, I couldn't be happier. No shit. Even after the events of the last two days, everything that really matters to me is going the way its supposed to (more or less).
mildly relieved (as opposed to mildly pissed)
