More interviews and more tests. All went pretty well. How well remains to be seen.

I went to Richmond for a two-day step in the interview process for one of the companies I'm interested in working for. It felt like it went pretty well, but there were enough people there also wanting jobs that I'm a little nervous. There were some really cool people there for the event, including the company employees. The whole thing wrapped up with a round-robin interview process where I met with 7 different people in the space of about 3 hours. This all followed first interviews with two other companies thursday morning. Both of those interviewers seemed pretty nice, but I'm still unsure of how interested I am in working for them. I have a follow-up interview with one of them this Saturday morning.

I had my second mid term in two of my classes this week. The first was scheduled for Friday, but the professor let me reschedule for this past Monday because of the interviews. When I finally took it, I zipped through it without any trouble. It's easier taking a music exam when one of the pieces I have to write on has been stuck in my head for the previous 24 hours. The other test was in one of my philosophy classes. It went more smoothly than the last test in that class, but I still had some rough parts. Whether or not my grade in there improves is still up in the air.

The Alpha pledges for this semester are fantastic. They are moving through everything except the test information memorization smoothly. Fortunately, most of the information has little to do with being a good brother, so we're still pumped about the whole thing. Mads is kickin' ass. This is the part of the post where I hit a writers block and talk about how cool Mads is again (see back to earlier posts about the origin of the joke). She lives a little to close to have any real space and is still having fun with the whole pledge period.

The following is a bit of info for Mike and Pete. I though you guys might get a kick out of this tidbit.

Just before dinner tonight, I passed Mike Peter's ex-girlfriend, April. She lived on Allison's freshman hall last year and things did not end easily for either the relationship or the friendship. Anyway, I just say her hand in hand with someone who I can only assume is her new boyfriend. This gentleman, Ray Goodwin, is known to many of us as the guy who tagged along on a fraternity outing uninvited and stiffed one of the alums on the bar tab. He is also the man behind some of the worst writing ever published in the Remnant, W&M's conservative publication. Considering that to say April and I didn't get along is a grievous understatement, I had trouble not laughing hysterically right in front of them when I saw them together. I'm feeling awfully petty and immature for posting about this, but then, I can also imagine the look on Mike and Pete's faces when they read this post. Smile Guys!

No major music stuff this week. I'm going to visit Dana this Friday and Saturday, and on my way back Saturday night, I'm hoping to catch the free Dave Holland concert at VCU in Richmond. Holland is a legend on the double bass and has done some amazing shit since hitting the big time with Miles Davis in the late sixties. To quote Brian Mason: serious skills.

Gotta go to work. I'll try not to break anything.
