Damn...talk about a miserable time to get really sick.

So we hit the last day of classes on Friday, and I went to The Bar. I had lots of Vodka. Then one of the guys got out the bottle of Southern Comfort for me. I took a huge hit off of the bottle, then found out that it was 100 proof and not just the 76 proof. Then I took another hit from the bottle. Dumb idea. I hate the way SoCo burns the back of my throat (different from anything else I drink). I went back to my room, stretched out on my couch, and called Dana. We talked for a while (incoherently on my end) and I passed out. She woke me up long enough to get me to hang up the phone. Then I passed out again for about another twenty minutes. Then I got up and ran to the bathroom. It was a personal embaressment for me, considering that it was the first time since my birthday in February that I got sick from drinking and only the second time ever. Luckily, I made it to the bathroom this time.

Some point between Saturday and Sunday, the hangover turned into a flu (or something similar). Dana came into town on Saturday night and that made the overall weekend experience great, but it dawned on me as I went to bed on Sunday that I was really sick going into finals. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! So I've slept a lot, and studied some, and eaten very little. With the way that I've been feeling since Saturday, I haven't had a cigarette since Friday night. I'm thinking about quitting (again) but I doubt the feeling will last long. When I like doing it, I like it too much to give it up. But any time away from the little cancer death sticks (as Jack, Paul and Caitlyn put it) is an improvement, even if the way I'm feeling sucks.

I finish up exams and papers on Thursday. Then I'm headed to the DC area for the next six days to spend time with Dana. I'm still trying to come up with some good Christmas ideas for her. I don't get quality inspiration about that kind of thing very often. I'm sure something will come to me. Next Thursday, I come back in time to catch my ride to the Northeast with Mia the next day. I get home on the 20th, leave to go see family 12 hours away on the 22nd, come back on the 28th, go back to see Dana on the 29th, come back late on the 1st of January...again I say AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Dave told me that its a jackass plan to tell readers to go check out different sites, but I've got one that y'all need to see. For those of you who haven't run across it before, "The Onion" is the satire newspaper at the University of Wisconsin. Neil, my friend at Duke, sent me a copy of their online version's URL address (www.theonion.com). I can give very few higher satirical or comedic recommendations. Go see it...laugh your ass off.
