Oh my, what an interesting week it's been! The Beta formal was on Saturday. I went with Erica's friend Michelle since I didn't have a date. We graced the Green Leafe with our presence for dinner where the food was okayish and the service crappy. It was loud and smokey, but the company was good. We went with my invites-- Sean and his girlfriend Maria. After dinner we went home to change into our dresses (except Sean who decided not to wear a dress, thank God). My mother bought me this gorgeous purple floor-length dress. Since we can't drink in the Beta house we went to Shannon's to preparty with my buddy, Mr. Bourbon himself...Jack Daniels. Well lt's just say that Jack got a little too close. There were about 20 people at Michelle's house and we were all a little intoxicated. Between my throwing darts, trying to play cards, attempting to pour J.D. through a closed bottle and many other strange occurances, I would say I was just a little "gone." The formal itself was fantastic. The Marketplace was well decorated and the size was just right. I was dancing and falling down with just about everybody and then one of my falls caused my Dress to rip...so I ran back to the house and switched dresses (into my senior prom dress). I made it back in time for revelation/presentation and was surprized to find out that Melissa Quincy did not have me as her special sister. It was Robin Bates who had me. I revealed to my little, Kia Malone, who was so happy that it was me! How totally cool. During the formal I kept running next door to the Iota formal where DJDave was DJing. His music was infinately better! After formal finished we went to Paul's Deli and talked with a bunch of people including the infamous Rob Porter. I should have asked Rob to formal, but I didn't think about it. He would have had a good time. Maybe next time.

This best thing of all on Satuday though happened in the afternoon. It was like 3:00 and I had one of those charming green face mud-masks on. The doorball to the house rang and people told me to answer it since I looked so silly. So with my mask, wet hair still wrapped in a towel-turban, nails still wet with finger polis, I answered the door. I about died when I saw that the two guys outside were friends of mine from High School that I hadn't seen in a year and a half! I was so embarassed. They laughed, and of course I invited them in. We caught up and talked about school. Both of them are Juniors at Virginia Tech. They were in town because my ex from high school, Jake was singing at the Meridian Coffee House with his acapella group. On the way to Michelle's later that night, I ran into the Meridian to say hi. Jake has grown up to be very, very cute. No more braces, thick glasses and acne. Incredible. Jake and I remained friends after we broke up. He's just a great guy.

Speaking of remaining friends-- Oh my! I just got an email from dear Eric Buttle. All the text said was "Lost my number, huh?" Okay, so we haven't had a chance to have a long meaningful conversation on the phone. He really needs to get over it and not be so bitter. I'll call him Sunday evening since I am so busy until then. I thinks he is just starting to realize that it's over for good.

On a completely different note, Jessica Miller, on of my Beta sisters -- the one who is bulemic, withdrew from school yesterday. She is an inpatient at a Eating Disorder Treatment facility in Richmond. This is a great thing. She knows that she'll die if she doesn't get help. I think I'll call her tonight to check on her.

I have hardly gotten any sleep all week. Monday night I was in the W&M Band office from 12:30 a.m. till 3:00 a.m. keeping Jacob Reiner company while he stuffed music in the Basketball band folders. He fun to talk to. He was an RA in my area last year and filled out one of my recommendations when I applied the other week. I still don't know if I have the job.

Anyhow, I have rambled on quite a bit, so I'll close up.

Take care guys, and keep in touch! My email account has been sitting empty all week! :(

Till next time,

Allison
