Alright...let's start with basics. Last Friday was the last day of classes and the last day at The Bar. It was an evening of bourbon, kamikazi, handcuffs, vodka, and Dukes of Hazard. And, aside from the bruises on my wrists Saturday morning, the weekend was great. I did okay on Saturday's piano jury and Sunday I slept in way late. Monday too. Tuesday I had my Literary and Cultural Studies Exam which went really really well. Wednesday I slept and today I took my econ exam and my Utopian exam. I was in better shape for the latter.

I also got a paper back yesterday. It was a re-write on a film paper I bombed earlier in the semester. I got a B!!!

Well, enough of the day to day shit. I suppose I should take time to explain the "wicca" thread on the DA. It starts here...one of my aquaintances is a practicing vampire. It is essentially his faith. To my knowledge, he has yet to harm a human. I have however witnessed the death of a neighbor's cat. Actually I didn't see his clan kill it, but I walked into a dining room to see a cat slit open and like 8 people drinking from its stomach. It totally grossed me out and recently I have been having nightmares about it. One of these "clan" persons claims to be a witch. I also remember that this person was not participating in the ritual, so I decided to look up some info on the differences between Wicca and Vampirism. The info I found was interesting although it really freaked me out. The reading has brought on crazy nightmares and one which I had just a few nights ago which I will tell you about. Please keep in mind that the people were in my dream only and are not neccessarily affiliated with the Craft. I will tell it like a story as it was in my dream. The dream begins with me waking up (within the dream)...

I wake up...startled by a light tapping. Nine taps. I rub my eyes and flash a look to the door. It creaks open and in walk nine hooded (black robes) people with red lights for eyes...or so it seems. A circle 9 feet in diameter is drawn around where I lie in my bed in the room's center. Candles are lit, quarters are hails (North, South, East, and West) I notice a faint crest on the backs of each of the robes. Pentagrams enscribed in circles. Except one. This one speaks and appears to be the leader. He has no crest. He takes of the hood (not the whole robe you perverts!) and closes his eyes. His red lights go away. When he re-opens them I recognize the man. Pete Maricostas. Pete takes his finger and motions me to be silent. I follow, perplexed, yet trusting. After all, Pete wouldn't hurt me. He hands me a white robe and mezmorized, I change into it. He speaks in rhyme something like:

"You've studied the Craft for a year and a day,
The Wheel of the Year has shown you the way,
Into our coven, we taught you and built,
An ye harm none, do what thou wilt."

The others next to Pete all took off their hoods...Paul, Caitlyn Boyd, Mike Peters, Daniel Kaiser, Madeline, and three others remained hooded. Each of the five above of each of the five angles of the Pentacle. Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Spirit. Then Madeline approached me as the others left silently. She simply repeated the last line Daniel said to me: "An ye harm none, do what thou wilt."

...I then awake from my true slumber, very puzzled. I frequently have dreams involving my friends, but this was way too realistic and extremely bizarre. I think all of the reading was getting to my head. I have had a hard time sleeping lately because of this. Maybe any psychoanalists out there can help me out. I think I am just going crazy.

I must make some things clear. I do not practice Wicca. I am a Roman Catholic, and a very happy one. I do, however, recognize Wicca as a religious practice and respect their right to practice freely. There is a huge distinction between Wiccans and Satanists that often gets over-looked. Many believe that witches are Satanists. They do not believe in the Devil. They believe in a God and Goddess and are much like Native American Shamans. Like their Rune states, they do no harm. "An it harm none, do what thou wilt." I believe Satanism is part of the occult and is wrong and should not even be tolerated. Vampirism is just a bunch of crazy blood-sucking lunatics. They both scare me.

Let's pray for peaceful dreams. On another note, I only have one post left. Is there anything in particular you are interested in hearing about before I head home?

Peace,
The Dream-Catcher, Ali
