Allison Woodling

I love this week, I love Williamsburg, I love seventy-degree weather, I love a clean room, clean laundry, fuzzy animals, and clarinets. I fully admit though that I do in fact prefer the saxophone. You see, Jacob plays the sax (baritone) and that makes it all okay. The William and Mary Concert Band is going on tour this weekend so I will not be able to see him. How sad. No, really, it is. It looks like Jacob has a better idea about his living arrangements for next year. He will likely live with two of my sorority sisters in an apartment: Robin and Kathy. I think it's terrific!

Speaking of cool people, Ed Baker sent me a very awesome tape in the mail last week. It had the House Martins (who I love) on it and also had the song "Allison" of course. It was a copy of his Valentine's Day radio show. Mostly eighties stuff. I loved it. Since I've had so much trouble getting ahold of the House Martins, he's also going to send me a tape of their first album.

Oh, more good news. Last Thursday night, I was formally accepted into the school of Education here. Yeah. What a terrific week. On Monday I got a second summer job, so now I will teach swimming/life guard 8-11 and be a camp counselor noon-7, Monday to Friday. That means weekends in the 'Burg seeing Jacob. Speaking of Jacob, I must have had my Jacob-radar on this morning. I went by his room with Robin and he wasn't there but I could hear his alarm going off. So we decided to go to the Caf for lunch and low and behold...he was right there, so we badgered him and his clarinet (AND SAXOPHONE) playing friend. The clarinet and the sax are similar, in fact it is not uncommon for one to play both, although not simultaneously.

I painted my fingernails last night -- L'Oreal's "Au Currant."

I've also been planning Julie's Clue Week. She gets to go through it all over again with her new pledge class. She'll have fun. Her best clue is Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. I love Julie, she is so much fun and she loves Hallmark Cards. Need I say more?

Last night I say the film "DUNE." Not exactly a "chick-flick" but I absolutely loved it. I had to watch it for my GOVT 406 class - Post Industrial Utopians. I loved it!!!!! I can not get over how cool this film is. Of course I slept with my doors and windows locked last night in case the Baron of the House of Harkonnen decided to pay be a vist. he is so foul. I also expected to look in the mirror this morning to find that my eyes had turned a flourescent blue. It didn't happen of course. I love Science-Fantasy films. I want to watch it again. I think all of you should go out right now and watch it.

When I got home from watching "DUNE" which has Patrick Stewart (Isn't he sooo yummy?) as a minor role, I watched The Neverending Story. Tonight I am watching the sequel. I haven't seen that one yet.

Anyway, go watch the movie. Trust me, it is really enlightening.

Are you the Kwizatz Saderach?

Love,
Allison, despirately seeking the powers of the Bene Gesserit.
