Dave Sobel

CEO

Dave founded Evolve Technologies as a web hosting facility in 1996 and won a USA Today award for his reality-based web site. After expanding into outsourced IT consulting services in 1997, the company’s clientele has grown to serve dozens of small to mid-sized enterprises and nonprofits across the Washington DC metro area. Recognized as a global expert in his field, Dave consults across a range of technologies including cloud computing, virtualization, network security, software development and web server and database server management.

A sought-after speaker, Dave frequently speaks on cloud computing, virtualization and variety of other topics at industry events including the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, SMB Summit and SMB Nation. One of the nation's leading experts on cloud computing and virtualization, he is frequently quoted in numerous business and technology publications, authored the book Virtualization: Defined, maintains two blogs--Evolutionary Business Thoughts and SMB Virtualization and is a weekly blog contributor to Channel Insider and video blogger for ChannelWebConnect. In 2010, he was recognized as one of the top virtualization experts globally as a Microsoft MVP for Virtualization.

Dave holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary. He is a dynamic voice within the IT community, active member and facilitator for Heartland Technology Groups and passionate about collaborating with clients and peers on utilizing technology to advance organizations.

John Flaherty

Vice President of Sales

Armed with the belief that the only way to have long term success is to act in the best interests of his clients, John is responsible for all sales operations at Evolve, spanning from new client prospect development to client retention. John has worked in IT sales and marketing for over 22 years, and has sold complex IT solutions to markets ranging from small local businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

Allen Thornton

Service Manager

Allen holds a Networking and Communications Management degree from DeVry University, and received electronics certification training while serving with the United States Marine Corps. As the service manager, Allen is responsible for overseeing the service team and database. Allen says he was trained to “blow things up” during his 4 ½ years with the USMC, but these days his technical training enables him to maintain the stability of our clients’ systems and now he is able to fix things that “blow up”.

Mleate Asmare

Technical Support Specialist

A graduate of DeVry University with a degree in Networking Communications Management, Mleate is responsible for providing engineering support and problem resolution to our clients.

Paul Campbell

Network and Systems Engineer

If you ask Paul what his greatest strength is, he will tell you it is his tenacity. Recently he demonstrated his tenacious nature when he stabilized a client’s network operations after the server went offline and he successfully migrated their data onto a replacement server. Paul graduated from James Madison University with a double major in math and computer science, and has been working with computers for more than 16 years.

Robyn Ilsen

Executive Assistant

Robyn’s role is to assist on various projects that support the vision of Evolve Technologies. Her responsibilities range from working with the Marketing and PR team to managing the office, and everything in between. Robyn graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Communications.
